Different Output Stars of the various Day Masters

Just another simple way of looking at BaZi is observing the quality and imagery of the 5 Elements and 10 Heavenly Stems.

Wood Day Masters, for example, has Fire as the Output Star. Many successful performers (individuals who thrive under the limelight/spotlight) are Wood (especially Yi Wood) people – Madonna, Beyonce, Oprah Winfrey, the late Princess Diana, Robbie Williams, and Justin Timberlake.

From a BaZi perspective, Wood requires Fire to grow. As such, creative expression (represented by the Output Star) is an avenue of Wood people to grow and flourish. Furthermore, the element of Fire itself represents outward presentation, beauty, and elegance.

Fire Day Masters use Earth as their Output. Now, Fire-Earth relationship is a bit tricky. While it takes time for Fire to warm the Earth, too much Fire will harden the Earth! This means that Fire people cannot spend long periods of time talking about the same thing, which will become redundant or repetitive if they do.

Earth Day Masters produce Metal, their Output element. Now, we actually have extreme cases: when the Metal is ‘buried’, their skills and intelligence (Output) lies behind the scenes. However when the Metal is already ‘exposed’, their talents are revealed for all to see. Also, with Metal as the Output Star, there is an aggressive nature involved – meanings skills that require a lot of physical interaction and movement (like sports or martial arts)

Metal Day Masters produce Water as the Output. Depending on which Metal you are – one thrives on Water while the other sinks in too much Water. Metal-Water relationships are normally very emotional, especially when the overall chart is cold. Who can forget Steve Irwin the ‘Crocodile Hunter’ – a Xin Metal with lots of Water and as such, became known for his lively commentary of the wildlife.

Water Day Masters growing Wood, their Output, is a somewhat slow, nurturing process. Wood represents literature, paper, and education and that is why many Water people choose writing or drawing as their Output. Because Water which grows Wood originates from a deep and hidden source, Water people normally choose topics which deal with feelings, thoughts, and emotions.
